Sometimes I Put My Kid in a Box

Ok, so here’s the thing. Toddlers are wily. There’s constantly trying to find ways to hurt themselves, destroy the house, torment the dog or find some other, unbeknownst shenanigan. It can make it difficult to make dinner.
Solution? A cardboard box.
In particular, we use our Amazon subscription box. It’s big because of the ungodly amount of diapers we order and fits Evie perfectly.
Usually, I get her in the box and toss in some crayons and markers and let her get her artistic talents flowing. She’ll spend a good half an hour coloring like a manic, which is a perfect amount of time to get dinner done. And she contained, so there’s no need to worry about her mischief making.
Now, don’t get me wrong. There’s still some mess. It’s usually on Evie. She can get distracted with adding colors to her skin.
But, hey, she’s washable and dinner’s made.
