Three Easy Ways to Exercise with a Toddler

A few weeks ago, I dusted off my old yoga mat. Evie was excited, intrigued and little skeptical when I unfurled it in the living room. The skepticism soon wore off and she began lining up every toy, stuffed animal and ball she could find on it.

This activity kept her busy for a good hour. She would clap every time she found something new to add to her pile.

Once she was done, we cleaned off the mat and turned on a yoga video. She was quickly attempting a down dog by herself.

But that wasn’t exciting enough and she turned her sights on me. And with that, I give you Three Easy Ways to Exercise with a Toddler:

One: Encourage them to try it. Here you see Evie attempting a down dog and drinking her milk. She’s talented.

Two: Make sure your hair is pulled back into a bun that is fun for your toddler to play with.

Three: Use your toddler to add a little extra weight you your lunge.

Point of the story, it’s hard to find time to exercise, work and be a mom. We tried yoga. It wasn’t perfect but it was fun for both of us. Evie’s also now really into perfecting her down dog.
