We Survived (And Only Ordered Pizza Once)
Big things happened in the May Squared house recently. After over a year of staying home with Evie, Aaron went back to work. We are now both working outside of the house and have full-time schedules. And, of course, trying our best to balance parenthood.
To say there were a lot of emotions in our house is a crazy understatement.
But — we survived. Evie is thriving with her nanny. Aaron’s settling into a new routine. And we only had to order pizza once.
I’d say that’s a win.
To help with the transition, I worked a few half days. The idea was to help Evie ease into being with our nanny and help them get ready for the day. I was showing her around the house and made a stop in the garage to show her where we keep the stroller. It was all over at that point. Evie was ready to go to the park. So, they packed up and headed to the park and I headed to work.
Our nanny sent photos and updates throughout the day. It really helped me with the transition. I knew that Evie was having fun and was well cared for.
The rest of the week seemed to fly by. Suddenly it was Friday. And even more suddenly, we’re past the two month mark now.
Don’t get me wrong. It was difficult. It’s still difficult. There’s so much more planning needed for the week. And less sleep. I’m guessing there’s a small amount of anxiety that will just make its home in my body now.
But we’re figuring it out.
